Aries and I: July 24

Join Joan and Aries on their latest adventures.
Great job Team Joan/Aries.

Jewniquely Myself

Just in case you are wondering, Aries and I took Saturday off as well as Thursday which was the first trashday since coming home. It just seemed like too much of a challenge to deal with all those obstacles right away. But Friday when we went out, some thoughtful neighbor had left his trash can out as a bit of a test for us, and Aries did a great job. She stopped, let me check the reason, then masterfully took me around the barrier.

Today was the first Coaching trip without the gentle leader. My golden gal started out rather wildly, but toned it down to a bounce when told to steady. She did walk past a curb, and led me to a driveway once when crossing. These mistakes were reworked and the outcome was good.

And oh what a love-fest we had upon our return home!

Such a treat to walk in your world with my new teammate, Aries. Love you, Patty!

  2. I am a huge golden lover. I had three of these fine fellows guiding me safely through what can be a scarry world. But I have fallen more with humans leading me then I ever fell with my trust worthy golden boys.

Thank you Patty for another fine post. Feel better, warm hugs.

Becky who misses her guide dogs

Thanks so much for sharing your experience! I continue to be amazed at how Aries leads me along the smoothest line of our broken sidewalk, and hesitates where tree roots have heaved up the pavement. May your memories be filled with sweetness.

      • OMG! I love it when they go around stuff like that. Is it not the best thing in the world to no longer stub your toes on cracks and roots?

Campbell used to go around tufts of grass sticking up in between the cracks in the sidewalk. Blue does the same. He especially dislikes manhole covers and avoids them as well as storm drains like the plague. LOL.

Keep having fun. Every trip is a new experience even when you walk the same path.

    • Hello Becky, and thanks so much for reading and commenting.

I’m sure Joan and Aries will be pitter pattering here soon to say hey.
