Advances in Indoor Wayfinding, Louisville, KY

GoodMaps’ CEO Jose Gaztambide and Chief Evangelist Mike May will talk about emerging indoor mapping and navigation technologies that are making private and public venues accessible to people who are blind or visually impaired. From basic orientation to step-by-step directions, indoor navigation technology is providing the ability to discover and explore the built environment independently. GoodMaps has developed an accessible indoor and outdoor navigation application that is powered by an open source mapping database. Listen and ask questions as Mike and Jose give us insight on innovative work the team is doing, especially in regards to indoor navigation. This presentation will be on Tek Talk, November 9 at 5PM Pacific.

GoodMaps was founded in 2019 as a spin-off from the American Printing House for the Blind (APH) with a mission of creating accessible navigation for everyone. Realizing that the mission of universal accessible navigation was limited by the lack of indoor digital mapping, the GoodMaps platform and company were formed.
