AUTHORS, THEY’RE ONLY HUMAN: Finally Frustrated with COVID-19 #Journal#Virus

OK! I’m finally frustrated with COVID-19.

I realize that this virus is dangerous. I know that we all must use caution when going out. I understand that case numbers are still rising, that people are still getting sick and unfortunately dying.

I get all that.

What I don’t get is how in all hell am I supposed to get some “Normal” things done.

A few weeks ago, I learned that my KATS (Kingsport Area Transit System) Door to Door services privilege was up for recertification. I asked them to send me an application to recertify and they did. I got someone to help me fill out my portion and then set about working on getting an appointment to get the rest done because the doctor won’t fill it out without seeing me. Never flipping mind that my disability has not changed, is not going to change and all the doctor needs to do is fill in the blanks and sign his name.

So, what happened when I tried to get an appointment to get this paperwork done?

They said they’re only taking urgent need cases and that I should just send in the paperwork.

So, I said, “I was told that the doctor couldn’t fill out the application without seeing me. Is this not the case now?”

The receptionist said…

“Oh, yes, it’s still the case, but if you mail it in, we can have it on file when we are able to see you to fill it out again.”

“No!” I almost shouted.

“I am not sending this paperwork to you so you can put it into some file and promptly lose it!”

What in bloody hell am I to do if I lose my Door to Door riding privilege?

Yes, there’s a bus stop at the end of my block. A bus stop I am grateful for because I had to fight all the powers that are or aren’t as it may be to get the darn thing put in after it was removed for no good reason!✌!

But some places aren’t accessible to me via way of the mass transit bus system and the Door to Door services is crucial to my daily survival.

So, what constitutes an urgent need?

That was the question I asked the twit who took my call.

She said, “Something which may cause you harm.”

“Well… You idiot girl!” I thought but didn’t say. Instead I said, “Not having solid transport to and from essential services is something which could cause me harm.”

She didn’t understand and said rather impolitely, “I can’t help you.” And then she hung up.

Could I have gotten my fingers round her neck…

Well… We shan’t go there…

This isn’t the only thing that’s being bothersome due to the blasted COVID-19.

No one has the same guidelines. Everywhere you go or call is doing something different.

Constant confusion is the “New Norm” Which by the way is a phrase which boils my blood.

My case manager is no longer allowed to come to my home to assist with mail and paperwork. So, I’m having to get others to try to make time in their already busy schedule to come and do this for me, and do not not not and did I mention not tell me there are apps for that. Sometimes you need a flipping person. You know? Someone who breathes, talks, walks, and can hold a pen with which they write, IE fill out paperwork!

I’ve no idea what is going to be the outcome of all this, but I’ve reached my boiling point!

It’s been an exceptionally long time coming but I’m there.

I’m tired of being understanding. I’m tired of being polite.

To quote…

“I’m mad as hell and I’m not going to take it anymore.”

On Monday I intend to call the main office of this blasted doctor’s office of mine, for which I finally found a number. I intend to talk to someone in charge. Not a girl on the front, not a “health case manager” who never returns calls, but a “Live and In Person” manager.

Either they’ll see me, or you may get a note from the city lock up asking for donations for bail.

For now, this is Patty who is Finally Frustrated with COVID-19 and King Campbell A.K.A. Bubba who snoozes as if all is well saying…

May harmony find you and when it does please bring some to me.

Blessid Be.
