Good morning to all, and welcome to Social Media Monday.
Just in case you’re wondering what Social Media Monday is, let me explain…
Here at Tell-It-To-The-World Marketing (Author, Blogger, Business Assist) I like to hang out on all the platforms of Social Media on which I can be found on Mondays.
I like to share links to things like my favorite blog posts from the week gone by, update folks on all the neat things my clients and I have been up to and highlight what’s coming up next.
Today, after a two-week break, I’m back here in campbellsworld to kick this off with a quick update from me, and a bit of what I’m planning.
First, as many of you know, I met with Vocational Rehabilitation Blind Services last week to see if I might qualify for their Self Employment program. While I’m not quite sure I’m going to meet all the requirements for that, I am happy to report some of what I need is going to be done.
They’re going to network me with someone from one of the places they receive technical support from so that I can get some assistance with the continuing computer issues that have plagued me since getting my new computer. Also, we’re going to investigate the possibility of finding some sort of assistance with getting decent wireless services and a possible landline into the house. These things along with the possibility of getting other assistance with self-employment where my business is concerned give me a positive start to the second half of 2019.
Another thing I’ve been up to during my break has been looking at the goals I sat for myself at the beginning of this year, and I’m happy to report, that while I’ve still got a way to go before I accomplish all the goals I made, I’m certainly well on my way.
My business is growing, with new clients, and services, I’m working on not one but two manuscripts, and I’ve also begun reaching out to my fellow blogger friends and am now offering guest author of the week spots here on the blog.
Seems to me that’s a lot of great stuff to have gotten done during the first six months of 2019 and there’s no telling what might take place before year’s end.
Now, before I go, I’d like to leave you with an excerpt from one of the manuscripts I’m working on. The following comes from the second edition of, Campbell’s Rambles: How a Seeing Eye Dog Retrieved My Life.
I hope you enjoy, and if you’ve not read the first edition of this book, which just happens to be on sale for 50-percent off along with Bubba Tails From the Puppy Nursery At The Seeing Eye at: http://www.Smashwords.com or if you’re interested in any of my other work, please keep reading to learn more.
Thanks for dropping by and do come back soon. You just can never tell what might happen next.
EXCERPT FROM CHAPTER NINE.
Another part of training, one that I thought was much more important, was traffic work. A guide dog is taught to do what’s called intelligent disobedience when working in traffic. That’s when you’re standing at the street corner ready to cross, you’ve made your decision to go, you’ve given the dog the forward command, and the dog refuses to obey. If the dog refuses to obey, it means that there is still unsafe traffic or some sort of obstacle, and you must see what it is that your dog is trying to get you to avoid. In the case of working traffic, nine times out of 10, its traffic passing in front of you that will cause the dog to disobey.
