This blog feature was created by Helen Vahdati. The theme this week is “new,” and the song is about the opposite. Poor Rose is tired of hand-me-downs and wants to wear new hats, shoes, etc.
The song is in my singing group’s repertoir. Recently, someone suggested we perform it during a style show for a local thrift shop, but I pointed out that it wouldn’t be appropriate because it would give used items a bad name, and the others agreed. I hope you enjoy this second-hand song.
