AUTHORS, THEY’RE ONLY HUMAN: Reasons For Talking Fingers and More

Hello to all and welcome to campbellsworld.

I’m writing this morning to explain why I’ve been doing recordings in the morning.

As you know we’ve had serious cold, super snow, and now, we’re having foggy cold rain. The temps are in the low 40’s but I have to say the feeling outside is raw and uninviting.

What does this have to do with my recording messages? Well, the raw, cold, wet, weather has my joints, especially my fingers hurting mightily and I’ve a bunch of totally talented Tell-It-To-The-World Marketing clients to promote so I hope to record a message each morning for all my blogger pals to hear, thus giving my fingers a rest.

I must admit though that there is another reason for my doing this as well. What is that reason? Well, the answer is simple. I’d like to in some way introduce you, the sighted reader to the world of the blind in a way which I feel will assist you with understanding us a bit better.

It is my feeling, that if you must listen to a presentation from me, or to me doing activities about the house without being able to see what I’m doing you will have a clearer “picture” of how it is for me and those like me to listen to, oh, say… your videos, or look at, your pictures and to do so without a lot if any description or voice over.

While many have taken on the task of adding descriptions to their photos, and a few have begun to add voice over, spoken narration, conversation, or text description to their videos, we’ve a long way to go before we sleep where the understanding is enough to make it commonplace within the writing communities.

I’m also hoping to make it so that people who put out magazines in digital formats will consider making these accessible to blind readers. I encourage all who wish to learn more about screen reading software to check out the link to my screen reader software shown here in this post.

I’d also like to encourage those who use other forms of screen reader software to put the company websites into the comments here so those who do have an interest in learning more about how we do things can do so without issue.

Thanks to all my WordPress family for participating in all that we do here in campbellsworld. Campbell and I both very much appreciate it.

If you listen to and comment on our recordings we would consider it a holiday gift to be sure.

The one I did yesterday was a tad bit long but it was so that folks could get a real look at what is our morning routine and what love and effort it takes each morning for me to give to Campbell what he needs.

While I love my hangout time with Bubba there are many mornings that doing what is in that recording is extremely hard due to my health issues but I do it just the same.

Well, enough for now, my fingers are yelling, the washer has stopped, and I must go forth with Sunday chores.

Have a great rest of your day and remember you’re the only one who can make it that way.

May harmony find you, and blessid be.

  1. I would suggest that these considerations would help some sighted people as well. My daughter is on the autism spectrum and has a difficult time reading. Web pages that are easily translated are especially helpful to her.
