Good morning CAMPBELLSWORLD VISITORS!!!
I hope this day finds you happy, healthy, and doing awesome!
While I am suffering mightily from a fibromyalgia attack, and feeling a bit bummed because I’m simply not able to go out and about today, I have decided to write.
First, of all, let me apologize for being so long between Positive Perspective posts.
I’ve been a bit busy, and also, last time I posted via my Iphone App there were all these stupid @ ‘ % and other nonsense signs that showed up for those reading via email, and it made me feel, well, unsure of myself, and whether I should post.
1. Do not download anymore WordPress beta stuff, because when you write their support staff about trouble you’re having, they don’t write back
And 2. Don’t worry so much about the small stuff.
If this post is giving you trouble in your email feed, go to the site itself by clicking the URL and you can read this post clearly!
OK all that is out of the way, and I have an awesome tale that needs telling. 🙂
Now, in some of my writings, I’ve talked about a new Drop-In Support Center that my awesome friends, Kristie-N Ronnie Richards have started, and of how, they’ve taken my offer of the use of my home to hold space for our center.
Now, I’m going to tell you, how this all began for me.
On August 2ND Kristie, the group coordinator, contacted me via Messenger, asking if I would like to be a part of their group.
At that time, they were meeting in a room at the Civic Center downtown.
While this was a great thing, because it was donated, it had its challenges.
The biggest one? We could not make it our own.
Well, Kristie-N Ronnie reached out to many different places, but nothing was quite right.
While they were doing their search, I was praying.
I spent many long hours, in deep prayer, with Mother Father God, and after only a little while, it became very clear what needed to happen.
So, one day while we were chatting, I made my offer.
I told them they could use my home to hold their meetings, and that they could turn it into a permanent place of residence for the center.
Now, we’re open on Mondays and Fridays from 11 AM to 3 PM and we do lots of awesome stuff!!
We hangout and play board games, and cards. We do arts and crafts.
We have support group, where anyone who feels comfortable can talk and share their trials, and triumphs alike.
We have prayer with those who need and want it, and we accept everyone right where they are.
Just as the song says, “Just as I am.”
That’s how they take me, and all who join.
Kristie, has allowed me the pleasure of being her volunteer Nonprofit Consultant and host, and I’m ever blessed for the chance to do some good in a hard-to-live-in-world.
We are doing other things besides hanging-out as well.
We go on outings with our group.
We’re teaching folks how to use both, the Door To Door transportation services, provided by KATS (Kingsport Area Transit) as well as the Public Transit System.
We’re going to offer Health and Wellness classes, Living Independent skills classes, such as counting money, budgeting, and much much more.
We’re so very excited to have this opportunity to reach out to our community, and this is why I’ve chosen to write this post today.
Kristie-N Ronnie Richards have given their permission for me to write of this, as long as no confidences are broken, and so I thought that since I’m unable to leave the house, I’d provide a community outreach in another way.
Now, if you’d like to join this most awesome group, here is what to know, and do.
First, you must, be 16-years-of-age or older to join, and if under 18-years-old you must have parental or guardian consent.
You must find your own transportation, and if this is going to be an issue, you need to let our coordinator know.
Kristie can be found on Facebook by writing the name as I have, written it here. Kristie-N Ronnie Richards
Or by calling Kristie-N Ronnie Richards at: 423.408.3463
Our next meeting will take place on Sept. 5TH.
We will be meeting at the Kingsport Target at 10 AM Eastern. We will be shopping, at Target, and all throughout the surrounding shopping center.
We will have lunch together, and then we will meet back at the Target promptly at 1 PM. Where, we will then catch the KATS bus together, and going to the Stone Drive Wall-Mart, where we will finish up our shopping.
Our outing will end at 3 PM so we can all catch our necessary busses home, before the end of transfer time, and we plan to have a rip-roaring-good-time!!!
We hope to see you there!
Until then, this is Patty, and her snoozing Seeing Eye dog Campbell saying…
Come to the Wilderness Center and Hangout Group, where harmony always finds you, and blessid be.
