Moon Day! It Is Mine!: That First Pull We Are One Yet We Are We

Inspired by lessons taken thanks to the  Sisters of the Burning Branch

I shared this day and its meaning with someone the other day and they wrote back to say…

“I’m not on the moon.”

At first I felt humor then the realization of their ignorance sank in.

After I composed myself and got over wanting to say, “Yeah probably you are.”

‘That wouldn’t have been at all being impeccable with my word’

I wrote back and said, “Well, the power is in the Moon, and you have to draw it from there.”

They couldn’t get that. Whether it frightened them to think I might be right, or whether their fear of it came from deep seeded teachings that it was evil and to be shunned, I do not know. I only know it was obvious that fear it they did.

I was so lost in that way for so long, and then I visited the ocean with my then Fiancé Donnie, Step Son Little D and our good friend Old Man Bob.

The connection of the  Earth, Sea, and Moon triangle I experienced there, took hold and Thank the Goddess that when it began to speak to me again later in my life I did not ignore. Honestly I believe

I have been on my path since that day. The voices within the Sea were sad, frightening beautiful and awesome all at once. The power in the pull of the Moon on the Earth I felt any time I sat listening and allowing the power to surround me  was incredible, and the connection of the three was something I now  hope to only become better at feeling.

I will never forget being in the swimming pool at the hotel. Donnie, Little D and I had been playing keep-away with a big beach ball! There were other guests floating round on large flotation devices chatting with one another.

Soon we began to realize that the ball and other flotation devices were moving toward the ocean end of the pool. We all got out, taking our balls and floaties  with us, and waited for the water to be still. Then one by one we added a device back to the water, watching in awe as they one by one were pulled down to the end of the pool closest to the ocean front and the water there. I remember tears filling my eyes as I felt that first pull.

That  night as everyone in my traveling party slept I began to acknowledge the Goddess. I sat on the deck of my hotel room and listened to the music of the Sea, felt her pull, then felt the Moon as she showed above me and the water. I needed no physical vision  to see her brightness and feel her power. It was all there for me in my third eye and how frightened of that I was.

When I came home I never stopped having that desire yet I feared, ignored, and went out of my way to avoid  it. It was years and many adventures later that I found her again but from that moment in September 2009 onward, I never lost the desire for true Goddess Spirit and Love.

Blessings have never stopped pouring in on me since that magnificent day not so long ago.

Thank You Grandmother Moon and the Weekly Feast

What Did I Learn From Writing?

As I read, I thought about my journey thus far. I thought about all the churches I’ve attended studied with and even for a time joined. I believe there are some where my name is still on the role, and that is fine by me.

Let us speak of just one of them. My most recent stint with a church was the Mormon Faith, and honestly they’re what led me to my current path, and thankful for it I truly am.

When you read of today and what it is for, if you know anything of the Mormons you know what today is. Today is ‘Family Day’ I used to love this the best, and tried as much as was possible to in some way observe this. Many even in my own family, even though all professed to want to draw closer together shunned this practice due to the Faith from which it came. I find that a very sad and common occurrence in all things.

My current chosen Faith gives some pause as well. I say to you all, Blessid Be there is no wrong way, no right way, only a way.

“We all look at the same Moon”

“So it is written so shall it be. So Mote it be and Blessid Be.”
